Aimbridge Introduces Credit Desk Support Nationwide

04/09/07

Aimbridge®, a provider of indirect lending solutions exclusively for credit unions, announced the national launch of Credit Desk Support (CDS), an underwriting service that enables credit unions to provide decisions on auto loans during extended hours, weekends, holidays, or on a full time basis.

Leveraging Aimbridge's well-known automated credit bureau pulling, decisioning, and workflow routing technologies, CDS makes it possible for credit unions to compete more aggressively in the indirect lending market, regardless of their size.  With Aimbridge's veteran team of underwriters, who boast more than 30 years of experience in the indirect market, lending recommendations can be made based on individual credit union's predetermined guidelines that have been established with CDS.

Aimbridge successfully introduced the service to a portion of its Florida market in 2006, and strong market demand, combined with a robust, efficient technology platform and successful experiences in key markets, lead Aimbridge to make the service available on a national scale.

"Vista's partnership with Aimbridge takes our indirect lending to another level," said Scott Baker, manager of lending operations for Vista Federal Credit Union.  "We are continually impressed by the quality of their underwriters; they adhere to all of our predetermined guidelines and are quick to point out potential for 'outside of the box' applications."

CDS trained underwriters are available from 6 a.m. to 7 p.m. (MST) seven days a week.  Credit unions' may select to use the service on a full-time basis, for the designated hours or on-demand.  This flexible structure provides extra support in the event of staff shortages and additionally it can help a credit union should a national disaster occur. Because all credit application routing is controlled through Aimbridge's existing workflow engine, CDS can be turned on and off immediately based on credit union's needs.

"Indirect lending is a very volatile market; it can be very profitable or put a credit union out of business if not managed properly," said Debbe Kirkpatrick, vice president of operations at Aimbridge.  "Our credit underwriters have the expertise exclusive to indirect lending to not only decision loans, but make recommendations back to the credit union on a case-by-case basis."

CDS has a proven record in helping credit union's capture business, in addition to improving rapport with dealers.  Many loan candidates can fall into the "gray area" that cannot be assessed completely by an automated approve or decline decision process.  In these cases, the Aimbridge decision engine will route the deal to a CDS analyst with a detailed list of reasons for the referral.  Aimbridge's well-trained underwriters rely on decades of experience to determine the most profitable decisions while minimizing risk to the credit union. More than 95 percent of all recommendations made by Aimbridge's skilled CDS team are accepted by its credit union's partners.
